DAVID BYRNE Wednesday, September 17 at 8PM David Byrne is well known as the musician who co-founded the group Talking Heads (1976–88) in New York. On record and in concert, the band was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike; more importantly, however, they have proven to be extremely influential. Talking Heads took popular music in new directions, both in terms of sound and lyrics, and also introduced an innovative visual approach to the genre. In 2002 Talking Heads were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2003, Talking Heads released a lovely boxed set which includes a DVD of all the band's videos. KENNY G Tuesday, December 16 at 8pm Join us for an evening with world renowned jazz saxophonist Kenny G. With his seamless arrangements and astonishingly long note- holding ability, multi-platinum superstar and Grammy winner Kenny G has enjoyed a constant presence on Billboard’s Top Ten charts for almost two decades. Kenny has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, earning him top honors as the best-selling instrumental artist of all time. In 1997, Kenny G earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the longest note ever recorded on a saxophone. He held an E-flat for forty five minutes and 12 seconds in the Hopkins-Bright Auditorium in New York City.
