By Car:

From the North and Northwest: MAP

Take 1 - 83 South (Jones Falls Expressway) to Exit 5, Maryland Avenue. Go straight through the traffic light to the second street (Mount Royal Avenue). The Lyric is on the left and the Bolton Yards Parking Lot is on the right.

From Washington:

Via Interstate 95 - north to Baltimore: As you approach downtown, you will see I - 395. Take I - 395 toward the Inner Harbor/Downtown. Stay on your left. The second traffic light will be Pratt Street. Make a right on to Pratt. Take Pratt to Charles Street and make a left. Follow Charles about 20 blocks until Mount Royal Avenue. Make a left on to Mount Royal and the Lyric is one block down on your right.

Via 295 Baltimore Washington Parkway: As you approach downtown, you will see I - 395. Take I - 395 toward the Inner Harbor/Downtown. Stay on your left. The second traffic light will be Pratt Street. Make a right on to Pratt. Take Pratt to Charles Street and make a left. Follow Charles about 20 blocks until Mount Royal Avenue. Parking

Limited street parking is available. Be careful of any signs indicating illegal parking as many spaces are for truck unloading only or must be cleared between 4 PM and 6 PM for commute periods. On the weekends, the University of Baltimore Parking Lot, located at the corner of Mt. Royal Avenue and Oliver Street just across from the theatre, is available for patrons.

Mass Transportation MAP

The University of Baltimore/Mount Royal Light Rail Station is located almost directly across from the Lyric Opera House. On weekdays and Saturdays, trains run from 4:45 AM until 11:45 PM north to Hunt Valley. Trains run south to Glen Burnie, weekdays and Saturdays, from 4:24 AM until 11:40 PM. Sundays, trains run both north and south between 11 AM and 7:25 PM. For more information, please call the Mass Transit Administration at 410-539-5000.

Baltimore's Penn Station is two blocks northeast of the Lyric. Daily service between Washington's Union Station and Baltimore on both MARC and AMTRAK is available from early morning until 11:30 PM. For more information, please call 1-800-USA-RAIL.

General Venue Information

Food and Beverage will be allowed in the theatre lobbies only. For most performances, lower level bar and upper level bar service are available and are stocked with a variety of liquors, wines, juices, and sodas. In addition, a coffee bar is located on the first level, which includes imported pastries as well as candy and cookies. No glass bottles, cans, food, or alcoholic beverages can be brought into the theatre.

Cameras/Video Information are not permitted in the theatre during performances. If any photographs or video is taken, the staff reserves the right to confiscate the film, etc. at the discretion of the production management.

Doors Open into the main lobby approximately forty-five minutes before show-time. Usually, the doors into the performance hall open 30 minutes before the event's posted time.

Lost and Found items should be taken to the Coat Room in the main lobby. After each event, items collected are taken to the Lyric Executive Offices. For Lost & Found, please call 410-685-5086, ext 601.

Reception Facilities are available both before and after performances. The Lyric can accommodate groups of 15 - 300 people. For rental of these facilities and catering questions, please call 410-685-5086 ext 201. More information can also be found here

Restrooms are located on both the orchestra and grand tier levels.

Pay Telephones are located on the orchestra level adjacent to the lower level bar. Taxi reservations can be made by our Coat Room attendant or head usher before the performance.

Purchasing Tickets

In Person: Visit the Lyric Box Office at 140 West Mount Royal Avenue Monday thru Friday 10am to 5pm. On performance days, the Main Box Box Office will remain open until show time. When performances occur on weekends, the Main Box Office will open for ticket sales two hours before showtime.

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

The Baltimore Zoo was created by act of the Maryland state legislature on April 7, 1876. The name was changed to The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore in 2004. It is the third oldest zoo in the country, behind Philadelphia (1873) and Cincinnati (1874). Currently the Zoo’s animal collection encompasses more than 1,500 birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, representing nearly 200 species. Animals are displayed in natural settings replicating their native habitats.
